The following material has been compiled to assist you in the rebuilding or modification of your VW transaxle. It might be helpful to have on hand the VW manual for the specific year transaxle you are working on, since year to year differences may seem confusing. If you have never worked on transaxles before, it will be in your best interest to read the proceedures through several times in order to familiarize yourself with everything. Due to the involved nature of teardown, assembly and or modification, no guarantees are given, nor any responsibility taken as to final results.

Take your time, don't overlook what might seem trivial or unnecessary, and use a little common sense.
